National Assembly Foreign Affairs Committee Delegation Takes Part in Trilateral Meeting of Bulgarian, Romanian and Serbian Parliamentary Committees on Foreign Affairs
A delegation of the National Assembly Foreign Affairs Committee took part in the trilateral meeting of the Bulgarian, Romanian and Serbian parliamentary committees on foreign affairs/policy held on 22 October 2015 in Sofia.
The meeting of the Bulgarian, Romanian and Serbian parliamentary committees on foreign affairs/policy was organised in the context of the Craiova Group dedicated to promoting the economic, social and political interests of the three countries and realising projects of common interest.
After the meeting, the chairpersons of the three foreign affairs/policy committees signed a joint statement that stressed the importance of the relations between the three countries in regional and international context and their role in the stability and security of South East Europe. They expressed their pleasure at the successful implementation of bilateral cross-border cooperation programmes. The chairpersons of the three parliament’s foreign affairs/policy committees said they were ready to continue cooperation at the parliamentary level through the exchange of experiences with Serbia concerning Europe-integration. The joint statement also notes the significant steps Serbia has taken and concludes that the first negotiation chapters should be opened by the end of the year. The participants also expressed deep concern about the impact of the migrant crisis and advocated further cooperation between Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia on the matter.
