National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Head of Parliamentary Friendship Group with Palestine Meet with State of Palestine Representative
National Assembly Deputy Speaker Djordje Milicevic and the Head of Parliamentary Friendship Group with Palestine Krsto Janjusevic met today at the National Assembly House with the representative of the State of Palestine Ravi Ahmad Fattouh and on the occasion commended the traditionally good relations between Palestine and Serbia.
Milicevic thanked the representative of the State of Palestine for coming to the reception for Aleksandar Vucic's assumption of the office of President of the Republic of Serbia. Milicevic also thanked the State of Palestine for its principled stance on the status of Kosovo-Metohija, emphasizing the importance of advancing cooperation in the spheres of economy, culture and education through student exchange. Speaking of educational cooperation, Milicevic said that Serbia has, through the World in Serbia project, provided scholarships for 16 Palestinian students.
Janjusevic briefed the guest on the activities of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Palestine stressing the need to continue with the economic cooperation, improve economic exchange and further bilateral cooperation.
The representative of the State of Palestine Ravi Ahmad Fattouh briefed his hosts on the state and political structure in Palestine and its negotiations with Israel. He agreed that strengthening bilateral and economic cooperation is extremely important and thanked Serbia, as a historic friend, for its support of the State of Palestine.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Serbia H.E. Mohammed Nabhan.
