National Assembly Deputy Speaker Marina Ragus Meets with Italian Ambassador to Serbia
The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee Marina Ragus met today with Italian Ambassador to Serbia Luca Gori.
The officials assessed that relations between Serbia and Italy are on an upward trajectory and that parliamentary diplomacy can contribute to intensifying the overall bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Deputy Speaker Ragus expressed her satisfaction with the announced visit of the Chairman of the Italian Parliament’s Foreign Policy Committee to Serbia, in order to jointly create a roadmap for the cooperation of both parliaments’ relevant committees. She added that the formation of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Italy in the National Assembly is expected soon, which will further strengthen the parliamentary dimension of cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Gori informed the National Assembly Deputy Speaker about the importance his country attaches to the improvement of parliamentary cooperation with Serbia and the aspiration to exchange experiences at all parliamentary levels. He assessed that it is important to keep the parliamentary dialogue dynamic and to intensify it in the coming period.
The officials exchanged opinions on the most important geopolitical topics, especially the process of European integration and Italy's support for Serbia's European path.
