National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gordana Comic Talks to EU Council Enlargement Committee Members
National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gordana Comic met with the members of the Committee on EU enlargement of the Council of European Union (COELA), headed by Georgia De Parolis, at the National Assembly House.
The EU Council delegation members had questions about the adoption of laws by urgent procedure, especially in view of the process of harmonisation of domestic legislation with EU regulations. They also exchanged opinions on the role of civil society in decision-making, where Gordana Comic stressed how important it is to boost dialogue between the legislative and executive branch of government and civil society which, she said, can be achieved, among other things, through the mechanism of public hearings.
Responding to the delegation’s questions, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gordana Comic also underlined the importance of normalising the relations between Belgrade and Pristina which would make it possible for all the citizens of Kosovo-Metohija to lead normal lives.
