National Assembly Deputy Speaker Edin Djerlek Visit People’s Republic of China

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Edin Djerlek visited the People’s Republic of China at the invitation of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

In the course of the visit, in Beijing, Djerlek met with Zhao Leji, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress.

As one of four speakers chosen among the parliamentary representatives of 70 countries, he had the honour to address the meeting and highlight the friendly relations between Serbia and China and the importance of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

He also opened the Chinese Legislators Forum, stressing that the relations between Serbia and China have reached a historic high since the establishment of bilateral relations, adding that both sides will continue to invest efforts into a shared future and strengthening of the comprehensive friendship, especially focusing on the importance of continuous parliamentary cooperation and deepening coordination between the legislative bodies.

In addition to taking part in the Forum, Djerlek also spoke with the directors of a number of Chinese institutions and companies, exchanging experiences and discussing the options for further cooperation.
