National Assembly Delegation at PACE Autumn Session

The National Assembly’s standing delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe headed by Dr Aleksandra Tomic and comprising members and deputy members Biljana Pantic Pilja, Elvira Kovacs, Aleksandar Seselj, Dubravka Filipovski and Stefana Miladinovic is taking part in the PACE Autumn session in Strasbourg.


In the course of the five-day session the Parliamentary Assembly will be discussing the role of national parliaments in successful decentralisation processes, empowering women as key actors for integration, family reunification of refugees and migrants in the Council of Europe member states, as well as the radicalisation of migrants and diaspora communities in Europe. The parliamentarians will also speak about nuclear safety and security in Europe, unlimited access to member states by Council of Europe and United Nations human rights monitoring bodies, as well as the treatment of Palestinian minors in the Israeli justice system.

Most importantly, in the last session of the year the PACE will discuss the strengthening of its decision-making process concerning credentials and voting and consider the proposals for the amendments to its Rules of Procedure.

The guest of the Parliamentary Assembly, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Tunisia Khemaies Jhinaoui, will address the parliamentarians on the second day of the session.

In the course of the session, the Parliamentary Assembly will also elect judges to the European Court of Human Rights from Albania and Norway.
