A delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia comprising Stefana Miladinovic, Dragomir Karic and Dubravka Filipovski took part in the 6th International Forum “Sanctity of Motherhood” with the topic “Family in the modern world: importance, tendencies and prospects”, in Minsk, 14-15 November.
At the opening of the Forum, MP Dubravka Filipovski read the letter of support of National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic, stressing the importance of family in Serbia and the country’s efforts to promote family values.
On day two, MP Dubravka Filipovski took part in the panel on “Family support laws and practice: current issues and trends” and briefed the participants on the legislation in Serbia concerning the family, education, youth healthcare and the protection of children and women.
She spoke about Serbia’s efforts to boost the birth rate, stressing that 58 billion RSD had been allocated in this year’s budget for family care, and the effects of the Law on Prevention of Domestic Violence.
“It is our duty not to close our eyes to violence, to react systemically and face the problem of violence. The urgent measures implemented by the law encourage women in Serbia to report violence.”
The Forum was attended by over 400 participants from Russia, Belarus, Georgia and Poland.
