National Assembly Delegation Visits Serbian Cultural Centre in Beijing and Forbidden City

The National Assembly delegation is visiting Beijing today, namely the Serbian Cultural Centre in that city, named after our Nobel laureate Ivo Andric and ceremonially opened in 2018.

"Culture is yet another area in which Serbia and China have exceptional relations and it is this centre that is the result of it. Through it, the Chinese people can learn and hear more about Serbian culture, both from the past and the present, cultural heritage and get to know our talents and artists in different fields, and thus continue to build bridges of cooperation between the two countries," the head of the delegation and National Assembly Deputy Speaker Marina Ragus pointed out.

The delegation also visited the "Forbidden City", located right across from Tiananmen Square. Once the imperial palace of the Chinese Ming and Qing dynasties, today the "Forbidden City" is a museum, covering more than 720,000 square meters and consisting of 890 buildings with 9,999 rooms.

The tour was also attended by National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Chairperson of the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy Snezana Paunovic, Chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government Dr Ugljesa Mrdic, as well as the advisor to the National Assembly Speaker Dr Mihajlo Jovanovic and the Serbian Ambassador in the People's Republic of China Maja Stefanovic.
