A delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia headed by the Speaker, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, made an official visit to the Republic of Srpska on 23 April 2009 at the invitation of their Parliamentary Speaker Igor Radojicic. The delegation also included Radojko Obradovic, National Assembly Deputy Speaker.

The return visit to the Parliament of the Republic of Srpska represents a continuation of the existing cooperation between the two parliaments based on the Protocol on Cooperation between the Parliament of the Republic of Srpska and the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia signed two years ago.

In a cordial and open meeting the officials shared experiences and stressed the need to intensify parliamentary cooperation particularly of relevant committees.

A working visit by representatives of the Republic of Srpska Parliamentary Committees to the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia was announced for June this year.

The National Assembly Speaker stressed the need to intensify economic cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska, particularly in the energy production sector which is considered a great potential for future cooperation.
