National Assembly Delegation Talks to Delegation of Hungarian Prosecutor’s Office
A delegation of the National Assembly, comprising National Assembly Deputy Speaker Judita Popovic and the Chairmen of the Administrative Committee and Justice and Administration Committee, Nenad Konstantinovic and Bosko Ristic respectively, talked to a delegation of the Hungarian Prosecutor’s Office headed by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Hungary, Dr Tamas Kovacs, at the National Assembly House.

Deputy Speaker Popovic briefed the guests on the National Assembly’s intensive legislative activity in the judiciary field and pointed out the need to harmonise the existing positive laws with European legislation, stressing that this should be accomplished by observing the highest legal standards in the field of human rights and the establishment of a lasting rule of law.
The two Committee Chairmen pointed out the need for further reform of the judiciary and penal policy enabling the judiciary system to function according to principles that may lead
Hungarian Prosecutor General Kovacs expressed his pleasure at the meeting and stressed the importance of sharing experiences and establishing specific cooperation between the two countries in the judiciary field.
The officials agreed that the visit represents the basis for further cooperation between the two countries’ judiciary institutions on issues of mutual interest, particularly regarding fight against all types of crime.
