National Assembly Speaker Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic visited the municipality of Zitiste today at the invitation of Dr Gabor Lodi, deputy and Zitiste Health Care Center Director.

On the occasion, Djukic-Dejanovic toured the Zitiste Health Care Center where Lodi briefed her on the operation of all the Zitiste Health Care Center services. Afterwards, the Speaker ceremonially opened the dispensary in Banatsko Karadjordjevo, refurbished after it had been closed down by healthcare inspection due to bad working conditions. Public enterprise Srbijagas invested more than 2.5 million RSD into the reconstruction of the dispensary. The dispensary today has at its disposal general practice services, a pharmacy and a dentist’s office.

On the occasion, the Speaker applauded the actions of public enterprise Srbijagas and appealed to all companies able to do so, to invest into settlements where the health care of the population is endangered. “This is an excellent example of how a public enterprise can help improve our citizens’ quality of life by enabling them to exercise their fundamental right - the right to free health care”, said the Speaker.

The ceremonial opening of the dispensary in Banatsko Karadjordjevo was also attended by deputies Jelena Travar-Miljevic, Branka Ljiljak and Zoran Kasalovic.
