The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received Valery Yazev, Deputy Speaker of the Russian Federation’s State Duma.
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received Valery Yazev, Deputy Speaker of the Russian Federation’s State Duma.
As the envoy of the State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov, Yazev has come to Serbia to participate in the 35th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation held at the National Assembly in Belgrade from 1 to 3 June 2010.
It was stressed that Serbia and Russia enjoy very good economic cooperation but that there is room for expansion which something both countries are interested in.
The officials noted the need to shortly activate the agreement achieved by the two parliaments’ Memorandum signed during Russian President Medvedev’s visit to Serbia. To this end, they stressed the need to improve cooperation both on the level of committees and the level of parliamentary friendship groups. Yazev emphasised that the excellent cooperation between Serbia and Russia presents an “engine for further development of the relations between the two countries”.
