The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received the newly appointed Hungarian Ambassador to Belgrade H. E. Oszkar Nikowitz.

The officials agreed that the excellent cooperation between the two parliaments, significantly improved by the Framework Partnership Agreement between the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and National Assembly of the Republic of Hungary, signed in November 2008 by National Assembly Speaker Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic and then Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Hungary Katalin Sili, should be continued. “The parliamentarians can communicate in a less official manner, thus helping improve parliamentary cooperation in the spirit of developing bilateral relations”, said the Speaker.

The Speaker thanked Hungary for supporting Serbia’s European road, all the more needed now that Hungary is chairing the European Union and Serbia faces strenuous work on fulfilling the obligations set out in the Action Plan for the fulfillment of the recommendations of the European Commission.

On the behalf of Hungarian National Assembly Speaker László Kövér, Ambassador Nikowitz presented the NARS Speaker with an official invitation to visit Hungary, if possible in May this year. The NARS Speaker accepted the invitation with pleasure.
