National Assembly Speaker Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received Vincent Degert, Head of the European Union Delegation to Serbia, to discuss the NARS Speaker’s upcoming visit to Brussels on 26 January 2011.

This will be the NARS Speaker’s first visit to the European Parliament during which she is to meet with the European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek, as well as the EP Delegation for Relations with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo, headed by Eduard Kukan.

Degert informed the Speaker of the possible areas of interest of the officials she is to meet in Brussels, primarily from the sphere of the NARS future activities from the aspect of harmonising the measures proposed by the EU with the legislation of the Republic of Serbia. The NARS Speaker was pleased to be given the opportunity to be the guest of the EP and discuss with the EP members the most important topics related to Serbia’s and, particularly, the National Assembly’s future activities aimed at full-fledged EU membership.
