NARS Speaker Receives Foreign Minister of Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
Today, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received Jean Asselborn, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg, in official visit to Serbia.
Asselborn commended these activities stressing that Luxembourg will continue to support Serbia on its road to full EU membership.
Asselborn was particularly interested in whether the National Assembly would debate the issue of so-called false asylum seekers who are proving to be a big problem in Luxembourg. He was aware of the government’s activities so far, in particular those of the Ministry of Interior which have given some results since the number of false asylum seekers has decreased lately.
The NARS Speaker said that the authorities in Serbia are making serious efforts to resolve the problem of false asylum seekers as soon and as completely as possible. Understanding the importance of the delicate problem the National Assembly will as soon as tomorrow, on 18 May, organise a public hearing gathering all those competent for the issue, as well as representatives of the non-governmental and civil sector. The Speaker expects that the debate would contribute to an efficient resolution of the problem at the state level.
