NARS Speaker Receives EC Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy
Today, at the National Assembly House, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received EC Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Füle. Djukic-Dejanovic informed Füle that the NARS had amended its Rules of Procedure so as not to impinge on the independence of regulatory bodies.

Talking about the abolition of blank resignations, another important suggestion by the EC regarding the Assembly’s operation, the Speaker informed the European Commissioner on the creation of a Task Group which forwarded a proposal of the amendment to the Law on the Election of Deputies to the Venetian Commission and was awaiting its opinion.

The officials agreed that submitting Bills under urgent procedure is undesirable. The NARS Speaker said that the National Assembly and the Government are in very close cooperation on the implementation of the urgent procedure striving to use it only in extraordinary cases.
