Today, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Belgrade H.E. Georgi Dimitrov, in a farewell visit.

Both officials noted that the NARS Speaker’s official visit to Sofia in April 2010 greatly contributed to the improved inter-parliamentary cooperation between Serbia and Bulgaria. Since the Serbian Parliament Speaker has officially invited the Bulgarian Parliament Speaker Tsetska Tsacheva to visit Belgrade, their meeting is expected to be realised soon.

Both sides expressed pleasure at the two parliaments’ creation of Serbia-Bulgaria friendship groups which have enjoyed intensified meetings since April 2010.

The NARS Speaker expressed gratitude that the Bulgarian Parliament was among the first to ratify the SAA with Serbia and that Bulgaria supports Serbia in the European integration process.
