The event was organised at the initiative of Ambassador Dr Ljiljana Niksic, Coordinator of the TSK-300 Committee Diplomatic Mission and honorary ambassador of the diplomatic clubs of eternal peace “Count Sava”, Mathematical, Karlovac, Smederevo and Forth Kyakhta Grammar School and with the cooperation of the Chairman of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region Dragan Stanojevic
The gathering was opened by the Chairman of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region, Dragan Stanojevic, who emphasised the importance of preserving the culture of remembrance of great figures of the Serbian diaspora, who have made Serbia famous throughout the world with their works. In addition to Nikola Tesla, Mihajlo Pupin, Milutin Milankovic and Mileva Einstein, one of the prominent places undoubtedly belongs to Count Sava Vladislavich.
"Count Vladislavich enjoys great respect in Russian history, where he is considered one of the most important diplomats. At the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, this year marks the 300th anniversary of the founding of the city of Troitskosavsk, today's Kyakhta, of which Count Vladislavich was the mayor. He managed to define the six thousand kilometre long border between Russia and China, which was confirmed in 1727 by the Pact of Eternal Peace. On the border itself, Count Vladislavich built a city dedicated to Saint Sava, which was declared the capital of the Great Tea Route - the longest trade route in the history of civilization, over 13,000 kilometres long," said Stanojevic.
The following also spoke at the ceremony: Ambassador Dr Ljiljana Niksic, Alexandra Protasova, Mayor of Kyakhta, historian Mirko Galaso, Sun Yunjin, consultant of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, Branko Vukomanovic, Count Vladislavich's descendant and President of the TSK-300 Committee for the commemoration of the jubilee of the establishment of Troitskosavsk, and Father Matveyev, priest of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Kyakhta.
A special part of the event was the “Great Tea Route” Forum, which focused on the fact that the “Great Tea Route” was more than a historical route that connected China, Mongolia, Russia and Europe, for centuries it also helped the flow of ideas, knowledge, languages and spirituality. Pride of place on that route belongs to Count Sava Vladislavich whose work symbolically connected the East and the West.
The attending were also addressed by Elmira Shcherbakova, UN expert for creative cities, Galina Sambaeva, Principal of the Forth Kyakhta Grammar School, Miodrag Hrnjaz, member of the editorial board of the book on Count Sava, MP Bojan Torbica, member of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region, Milan Bosiljcic, member of the TSK-300 Committee, MP Mitar Kovac and Ambassador Dr Ljiljana Niksic.
As part of the programme, Count Vladislavich's descendant, Branko Vukomanovic officially opened the exhibition "300 Years of Count Sava Vladislavich of Troitskosavsk". The opening of the exhibition was, among others, attended by Sergei Cheryomin, Minister of the Government of the City of Moscow and head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations.
