On the occasion, Marija Obradovic, MP and coordinator of the Women’s Parliamentary Network, said:
“On the behalf of the Women’s Parliamentary Network, I would like to congratulate the 8 March to all the ladies of Serbia and ask that this day be more than just a symbol of love and attention to women.
This should be a day to sum up the previous year’s results of our efforts on improving women’s rights in Serbia.
The Women’s Parliamentary Network is one of the steps toward improving women’s rights in Serbia. We have come together to pass new laws and follow the implementation of the existing legislation in spheres of importance for women such as women’s health, economic empowerment of women, education, fighting domestic violence and encouraging an increased participation of women in politics.”
