Members of PFG with Syria Meet with Syrian PFG with Serbia

The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Syria Miroslav Lazanski met today at the National Assembly with a delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic Parliamentary Friendship Group with Serbia headed by Jamaal Zu’bi to discuss advancing the relations between the two countries and the prospects for economic cooperation.

PFG Head Lazanski said that Serbia and Syria are traditionally friendly states adding that the parliamentary friendship groups can help intensify any future cooperation. Lazanski thanked Syria for its support of Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in Kosovo-Metohija, and for its support in international organizations.

The Head of the Syrian Arab Republic Parliamentary Friendship Group with Serbia Jamaal Zu’bi agreed that meetings between parliamentary representatives can help further cooperation across the board. Zu’bi informed the PFG members of the big international fair in Damascus in September which could be an excellent opportunity to launch cooperation between the pharmaceutical and construction industries, and especially trade.

The officials agreed that cooperation and especially exchange of parliamentary experiences should be improved among other things by a visit of the members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Syria to Damascus, at the invitation of the Syrian side.

The meeting with the delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic Parliamentary Friendship Group with Serbia was also attended by Josip Broz, member of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Syria.
