Meho Omerovic Talks to Representatives of National Employment Services

Today at the National Assembly House, the Chairman of the Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues, Meho Omerovic, received the members of the regional roundtable “Black labour market, with a special focus on employment of foreign citizens on the territory of the Republic of Serbia”, organised by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.



Today at the National Assembly House, the Chairman of the Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues, Meho Omerovic, received the members of the regional roundtable “Black labour market, with a special focus on employment of foreign citizens on the territory of the Republic of Serbia”, organised by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. The delegation comprised representatives of the national employment services of Serbia, Bulgaria, the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Committee Chairman briefed the guests on the Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues’s responsibilities, as well as on the basic solutions regarding employment conditions and employment of foreign citizens from the new law drafted by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. The Draft law is aligned with European standards in the field. In addition, as he pointed out, the National Assembly had so far verified several conventions regulating the field with other surrounding countries.

During the conversation the representatives from Bulgaria, the Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia exchanged experiences gathered from the work of national employment services and agencies, as well as labour inspectorates. On the occasion, the participants put particular emphasis on the importance of the role of the Balkan Centre for cooperation in the field of labour and employment, with a headquarters in Belgrade, founded last year by the South European countries, with the goal of more efficient common dealing with issues in this field.
