In the meeting with the Head of the Greek delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and former Minister of Defence Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, Prof. Dr Zoran Dragisic thanked Greece for respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.
He expressed great concern about the unilateral and escalating moves taken by the provisional institutions in Pristina, aimed at expelling Serbs from Kosovo-Metohija. The illegal arming of the so-called "Kosovo Security Forces" is particularly dangerous, as it is not only contradicts international law, UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and other signed agreements, but also directly contributes to threatening the stability of the entire region. He thanked the Greek members for their participation in KFOR and reminded that these are the only legitimate armed formations in Kosovo-Metohija. Delegation member Natasa Jovanovic reminded that the obligation to form the Community of Serb Municipalities has not been fulfilled for 13 years, and that since A. Kurti came to power alone, almost 700 ethnically motivated attacks on Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija have been carried out.
The members of the Greek delegation underlined the traditionally friendly relations between Serbia and Greece, as well as the brotherly relations between the two peoples. They reiterated their support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia. Greece is closely monitoring the situation in Kosovo-Metohija and supports all activities aimed at achieving peace and stability in the Western Balkans. They expressed their readiness to soon exchange visits between Serbian and Greek parliamentarians, as well as to continue the active cooperation between the delegations within the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
In the meeting with the Acting Head of the Portuguese Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Bruno Vitorino, Prof. Dr Zoran Dragisic thanked Portugal for understanding the difficult situation of the Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija and welcomed the participation of Portuguese forces in KFOR. He stressed the commitment of the Republic of Serbia to preserve peace and stability in the region. The Portuguese parliamentarian announced the formation of a Friendship Group with Serbia in the Portuguese Parliament and expressed satisfaction with the planned intensification of interparliamentary cooperation.
