Meeting of Organisation of Serbian Students Abroad
The Organisation of Serbian Students Abroad (OSSI), set up 19 years ago with the idea of fostering ties among students studying outside of their mother country, celebrated its anniversary at the National Assembly House.
“You are very brave young people because you have decided to leave your families and country at such a young age and take on a precarious journey to perfect your knowledge, gain various skills and contribute, first to yourself and your family, and later to the place you live in”, Deputy Speaker Arsic greeted the students with these words.
He also told them that the National Assembly is at their disposal to solve any problems they might encounter and that the politicians are hard at work to make Serbia a place that can offer better working and studying conditions.
“We are working very hard to make Serbia one of the most beautiful places to live and we hope that most of you will return to the motherland. The skills and knowledge you gain will mean a lot to your country”, said Arsic.
The President of OSSI Aleksandar Jakovljevic said that after 19 years the organisation boasts about 10 thousand students and is a gathering point and place to seek help for those who study far away from their families and country. Speaking of its work and plans for the coming years, Jakovljevic stressed the successful completion of the diploma nostrification problem.
The attending were also addressed by Minister of Defence Zoran Djordjevic, one of the founders of OSSI Vuk Jeremic and President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Marko Cadez.
