MPs’ Meet with Russian Epidemiology and Microbiology National Research Centre Director

National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Foreign Affairs Committee Chairperson Marina Ragus, as well as Health and Family Committee Chairman Dr Muamer Bacevac and Committee Deputy Chairman Nenad Ristovic, met today in the National Assembly with the Director of the Russian National Research Centre for Epidemiology and Microbiology Alexander Gintsburg, currently visiting the Republic of Serbia with his associates.

Marina Ragus said that this visit by the representatives of the Russian National Research Centre for Epidemiology and Microbiology is the beginning of a new phase in the successful cooperation on the development of innovative medicines and vaccines. She stressed that the further and more serious cooperation of the Institute of Virology, Vaccines and Sera "Torlak" with the Russian National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology would be of great importance in mitigating the dire consequences of COVID.

Dr Muamer Bacevac expressed gratitude for the support in the fight against the infection caused by the coronavirus, stating that for the members of the Health and Family Committee, it would be of great importance to exchange contacts with members of the competent committee for health in the Russian Parliament, as well as with experts from the National Research Centre for Epidemiology and Microbiology, so as to get better acquainted with the organisation of health care in Russia and new achievements in the development of vaccines.

In the conversation, Nenad Ristovic pointed out how important "Sputnik V" vaccine was for our citizens in the fight against the corona virus. He opined that it is very important to continue the cooperation of the "Torlak" Institute with the Russian National Research Centre for Epidemiology and Microbiology, in the further development of immunological science and in the production of vaccines, as a prevention of the development of infections.

The attendees of the meeting agreed that the exchange of contacts and study visits of our parliamentarians and experts is extremely important.
