MPs and Republic of North Macedonia Parliamentary Delegation Discuss Parliamentary Budget Office

A delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia headed by Liljana Kuzmanovska visited the National assembly and met with the MPs using the Parliamentary Budget Office, to learn more about its operation since Serbia is the first state in the Western Balkans to offer this type of service to its MPs.

They had questions about the mode of operation of the office, deadlines and technical details, as well as its objectivity and impartiality.

MPs Dr Sanda Raskovic Ivic, Goran Ciric and Goran Kovacevic highlighted the objectivity of the Parliamentary Budget Office and the fact that its services facilitate the preparation for debates on budget-related, economic and social topics. It is especially useful to the MPs who are not economists and ones who need expert analyses.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy.
