MP Marko Parezanovic Takes Part in SEECP PA Standing Committee Meeting

Marko Parezanovic, substitute member of the National Assembly’s standing delegation to the South East Europe Cooperation Process Parliamentary Assembly (SEECP PA), took part in the meeting of the SEECP PA Standing Committee held under the auspices of the Croatian chairmanship of the South East Europe Cooperation Process on 22 May, in Opatija.


The members of the South East Europe Cooperation Process were greeted by the Head of Croatia’s parliamentary delegation Predrag Matic who said he was sure Croatia’s chairmanship of the Cooperation Process would be successful to the end and thanked the regional parliaments for again helping promote and intensify cooperation through the SEECP PA. The members of the Standing Committee spoke about their efforts on the institutionalization and increased visibility of the SEECP Parliamentary Assembly, support for EU accession and strengthening the Parliamentary Assembly’s cooperation with other interparliamentary assemblies and the European Parliament. The officials noted that the coming SEECP chairmanship, Slovenia’s, would continue to focus on achieving SEE region’s common priorities.

The Standing Committee reviewed the topics on the agenda for the SEECP PA plenary session, work programme of the next SEECP chair and draft final declaration which will be on the agenda for the coming plenary session. The members of the Standing Committee proceeded to exchange opinions and proposals concerning the SEECP Parliamentary Assembly’s further activity. They also thanked the Croatian Parliament for the way it has been chairing the SEECP PA so far.
