MP Jovan Palalic Meets with Order of Malta Grand Chancellor

Today, the Grand Chancellor of the Order of Malta Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo received Jovan Palalic, member of the National Assembly and Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Order of Malta, together with the Ambassador of the Order of Malta in Serbia Francesco Maria Amoruso and the Ambassador to the Order Sima Avramovic.

The meeting was an opportunity to officially present a framed reproduction of a commemorative postage stamp issued by the Republic of Serbia to commemorate the 140th anniversary of the donation of a hospital train, with which the Order of Malta supported the Kingdom of Serbia in 1885, at the outbreak of the Serbian-Bulgarian War.

During those months, the Order's medical train operated along the Nis - Belgrade railway to evacuate and assist the wounded of both armies, providing care and transport in extremely difficult conditions and embodying the Order's mission in the service of the most vulnerable.

Ambassador Giampaolo Cantini, Secretary General of Foreign Affairs of the Order of Malta, was also in attendance.
