MP Aleksandra Djurovic at Meeting of PACE Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy
MP Aleksandra Djurovic, acting Head of the National Assembly’s standing delegation to PACE, took part in the meeting of the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) held on 7 May in Athens.
Aleksandra Djurovic stressed that Serbia had done all in its power to discover the perpetrators of the crimes against the Albanian population and expected all the crimes against Serbs to be investigated. Serbia is following the investigation of the EULEX special team launched based on the report of PACE rapporteur Dick Marty very intently, said Djurovic.
She restated that Serbia believes only a status neutral approach in the Council of Europe’s activities to be acceptable and is strongly against any attempts to initiate the procedure to accept the self-proclaimed state of Kosovo into the Council of Europe. The status neutral approach is also important for the successful continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
Serbia is prepared to find a comprehensive solution, but is not ready, nor will it ever be, to accept the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo, concluded Djurovic.
