In his address MA Igor Becic said that the Republic of Serbia, though the youngest member of the organisation, values its cooperation with the PABSEC very highly. He said that the standing delegation he is heading has a proactive stance and wishes to deepen the relationship between the organisation’s member states in the fields of politics, economy and business, transportation and culture. MA Igor Becic commended the strengthening of the Parliamentary Assembly especially in view of the rising trend of parliamentary diplomacy and the role of parliamentarians as representatives of the people in a wide spectrum of international activities. Becic opined that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation has with its activities opened a path to a stability, prosperity and peace for the region, and that the project has proven to be both useful and efficient.

In the course of the meetings in Istanbul the Serbian delegation headed by MA Igor Becic also had a series of bilateral contacts.
