Judges Take Oath of Office Before National Assembly Speaker
Judges elected in line with the Decision on the Election of Judges to Permanent Office, adopted by the High Judicial Council, regarding the decision of the Constitutional Court, took the oath of office before the National Assembly Speaker today.
At the National Assembly House, 52 judges from more than 30 Serbian towns took the following oath of office: “I swear, by my honour, that I will perform my office true to the Constitution and law, to the best of my knowledge and ability and to serve solely to truth and justice”.
Congratulating the judges, National Assembly Speaker Nebojsa Stefanovic said that he was sure that they would render judgments independently, without bias, according to their conscience, thus ensuring a fair trial for every citizen of Serbia and at the same time contributing to the reputation of the judicial office.
The oath taking was attended by Minister of Justice and Public Administration Nikola Selakovic and Vice-President of the High Judicial Council Mirjana Ivic.
