Iraqi delegation visits National Assembly
At the initiative of the International Republican Institute, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia was visited on 26 August by an Iraqi delegation.
At the initiative of the International Republican Institute, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia was visited on 26 August by an Iraqi delegation. The group of women, members of parliament and the non-governmental sector, advocating gender equality in Iraq, was greeted by members of the National Assembly’s Gender Equality Committee.
The meeting focused on women’s rights in the two countries, and the participation of women in public life and, especially, in politics. Special attention was paid to drafting legislation aimed at improving the situation of women.
