International Seminar on Strengthening Parliamentary Oversight in Kyrgyzstan

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gordana Comic and MP Dr Milorad Mijatovic took part in the International Seminar on Strengthening Parliamentary Oversight in the Kyrgyz Republic, held on 27-28 September 2019 in Bishkek under the auspices of project “Strong and inclusive parliamentary democracy", funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and conducted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The purpose of the seminar was to analyse the parliament’s control function in the Kyrgyz Republic and present different parliaments’ current initiatives, best practice examples and innovative approaches. Gordana Comic spoke about the parliamentary oversight initiatives and practice examples, while Milorad Mijatovic spoke at the panel on mechanisms of parliamentary oversight in terms of promoting the Sustainable Development Goals and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, sharing the National Assembly’s experiences in the area.
