Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality Committee Chairman at International Parliamentary Conference on Gender and Politics

The Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality, Meho Omerovic, will take part in the International Parliamentary Conference on Gender and Politics, to be held from 6 to 8 November 2012 in London.


In the course of the conference, parliamentarians coming from different regions will have the opportunity to exchange opinions on elections and their respective states’ achievements as regards gender representation.
The Chairman of Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality, Meho Omerovic will speak at the plenary session on the Role of parliamentarians in achieving representative democracy. The Conference will also address the following topics: Gender, media and politics; Women, leadership and public life; Economic empowerment; Investment into education for all – global commitment, and there would also be several workshops on gender and politics.
The International Conference is organised as part of the activities of the British Group at the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which the National Assembly is a member of.
