Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality Committee Chairman Meets with Ombudsman

The Chairman of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality Aleksandar Markovic met today, in the National Assembly House, with Ombudsman MA Zoran Pasalic to discuss options for the further intensification of cooperation.

Aleksandar Markovic said that the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality considers the Ombudsman’s annual reports and formulates conclusion proposals that it forwards to the National Assembly for further discussion.

He added that, in addition to this, it maintains regular communication and exchange of information with the independent body which is crucial for its efficient operation in the area of protecting human and minority rights and resolving problems with which the citizens address the Ombudsman.

After MA Zoran Pasalic had informed the host about the Ombudsman’s current activities, Aleksandar Markovic expressed his pleasure at seeing the institution follow the law in its operation and act in accordance with its authority.
