Health and Family Committee Chairman Meets with Ombudsman

The Chairman of the Health and Family Committee Dr Muamer Bacevac met today, in the National Assembly House, with Ombudsman MA Zoran Pasalic.

In the course of the meeting, Dr Bacevac presented the Committee’s scope with a special focus on its representative function conducted through the consideration of civic petitions, proposals and initiatives. He reminded the guest that for the purpose, the Committee had set up a Working Group for civic petitions which has a similar role in the communication with the citizens as does the Ombudsman. He stressed that this is an important converging point for the two institutions which can held deepen and strengthen cooperation through an exchange of best practice examples and experiences.

The officials also discussed the ways to advance mutual cooperation so that they could, though joint efforts, ensure an efficient protection of civic rights. They deemed that institutional cooperation is crucial for the strengthening of public trust and ensuring a high level of legal security and protection of the citizens.
