The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Netherlands thanked the Ambassador for the help the Netherlands sent Serbia during the floods. He added that he hoped the Netherlands would continue to assist Serbia by sharing their experience in flood protection. Discussing how to promote economic cooperation between the two countries, the PFG Head said that both the National Assembly and the Government of the Republic of Serbia aim for economic progress, stressing that the National Assembly would soon be discussing the amendments to the set of laws which would create a more favourable economic climate and investment conditions in Serbia. He also added that the Government of the Republic of Serbia continues its economic reform and the fight against corruption and crime.
The Dutch Ambassador said that the Netherlands are ready to send their flood protection experts to Serbia to share their experience and educate their counterparts. He also said that the Netherlands are interested in cooperating with Serbia on concrete tasks and projects and believes that cooperation in the spheres of agriculture, IT, shipbuilding and renewable energy sources show the most potential for expansion. The Ambassador commended the economic reform in Serbia, the Government’s fight against corruption and crime and the judiciary reform, adding that he believed Serbia to have ample potential and good climate for investment.
The meeting was also attended by Vesna Markovic, member of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Netherlands.
