Head of National Assembly Standing Delegation to PABSEC Takes Part in Observation Mission of Presidential Election in Georgia

MA Igor Becic, head of the standing delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), took part in the Parliamentary Assembly’s mission which observed the presidential election in Georgia on 28 October 2018.


The PABSEC delegation also comprised Azerbaijani MP Musa Guliyev and PABSEC Secretary General Asaf Hajiyev.

MA Igor Becic visited the polling stations in Tbilisi verifying that the election process is proceeding according to democratic standards and procedures. The presidential election in Georgia was found to have been conducted in a transparent manner with no irregularities.

According to the preliminary results of the Georgian presidential election, no candidate won more than the 50% of the votes necessary to win the election, so there is to be a second round, no later than 2 December 2018. The final results of the first round of the presidential election in Georgian will be announced by 15 November.
