Head and Members of PFG with Israel Receive Parents of Young Man Kidnapped by Hamas

The members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Israel received, in the National Assembly House, the parents of Alon Ohel, who was kidnapped by Hamas 420 days ago.

The 23-year-old young man was kidnapped on 7 October 2023, along with 200 other people, during a music festival held in the South of Israel.

His mother, Idit Ohel, appealed to the PFG with Israel, asking them to help release Alon, who is a citizen of Serbia in addition to Israel.

Milovan Drecun, Head of the PFG with Israel, stressed that the MPs would do everything in their power to help end this inhumane act. He extended his condolences to the victims and the families of the hostages, saying that it is hard to believe that such a horrible act can happen anywhere on the planet in the 21st century.

The Israeli Ambassador said that the embassy is maximally involved in finding solutions to overcome this difficult situation and thanked the National Assembly and its members for their willingness to get involved and help.

Drecun thanked the parents of the abducted young man for their trust, saying that this is proof of the friendly ties between the two nations and expressed the hope that they would find their son and that he would soon visit Serbia, where part of his family lives.

The meeting was also attended by PFG members Lidija Sarac, Aleksandar Djukic, Dane Stanojcic and Vesna Savovic Petkovic.
