The Head of the PFG with Finland Tijana Davidovac said that the good relations between Serbia and Finland could be furthered by intensifying interparliamentary cooperation and exchanging PFG visits. Davidovac briefed the Finnish Ambassador on the National Assembly’s intensive work on the 2018 budget proposal and other bills currently on the Parliament’s agenda.

Speaking of the economic relations between Serbia and Finland Davidovac said that 60 Finnish companies are doing business in Serbia but there is still room to improve trade. Establishing direct flights between Serbian and Finnish cities would also contribute to the advancement of relations between the two countries said the PFG Head.

Finnish Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Pertti Juhani Ikonen agreed that Serbia and Finland enjoy excellent relations which could still stand to be improved in the fields of economy, ecology and environmental protection and information technologies.

PFG member Dr Ljubinko Rakonjac thanked the Finnish Government for funding the Western Balkans forestry project, stressing that as one of the greenest and cleanest of European states Finland is a role model for Serbia, while PFG member Dr Ivan Bauer spoke about the possibilities to advance cooperation between Serbian and Finnish educational institutions and in the field of information technologies.
