Gojkovic at European Conference of Presidents and Speakers of Parliament in Strasbourg

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic will be taking part in the European Conference of Presidents and Speakers of Parliament in Strasbourg on 15 and 16 September.


The European heads of parliament will be discussing the role and responsibilities of parliaments in the migration and refugee crisis in Europe, cooperation between national parliaments and the Council of Europe: together promoting democracy, human rights and the rule of law, as well as mobilisation of parliaments against hate, for inclusive and non-racist societies.

The heads of 37 national parliaments will be attending the Conference which will be addressed by the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Pedro Agramunt and Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland.
