Fourth Sitting of the Poverty Reduction Committee

The Poverty Reduction Committee held its fourth sitting on 7 November. The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman, Bojan Milovanovic.



The Poverty Reduction Committee held its fourth sitting on 7 November. The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman, Bojan Milovanovic. The sitting was attended by the members of the Team of the Vice-President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, UNDP and the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence.

The Team representative, Zarko Sundaric informed the Committee members of the future programme of cooperation between the Team of the Vice-President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the implementation of the Poverty Reduction Strategy and the Committee. He stressed the necessity to expand the cooperation programme to include issues dealing with microcrediting aimed at poverty reduction, the issue of domestic violence and violence against women, as well as education for the poor. UNDP representatives presented to the Committee a programme of mutual cooperation including a programme for strengthening the capacity of Assembly Committees dealing with poverty reduction in Serbia.

The Committee members went on to discuss these issues and posed questions to the attending guests.
