Fourth Sitting of the Environmental Protection Committee
At the sitting held on 17 July, the Environmental Protection Committee discussed the two petitions it had received and ascertained how to process them further. Committee member Ivana Stojiljkovic was the rapporteur of the Working Group for the processing of petitions.
The Committee adopted the conclusion proposals on the suggestions made at the public hearing, elaborated by Ivan Karic, member of the Working Group for the formulation of the Committee’s conclusion proposals.
The Committee members discussed the condition of the temporary landfills in the flood-stricken areas and decided to request an official report on them from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection. The Committee Chairman suggested holding a public hearing on the condition of the landfills in Serbia. The Committee members also discussed how to address the problem of communal waste and the possibilities for applying for IPA funds.
The sitting was attended by Dejan Zagorac as representative of civil society organisations.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Dr Branislav Blazic.
