Ministry Secretary Igor Jovicic briefed the Committee members on the Ministry’s legislative activity in the previous period informing them that a set of media bills would be forwarded into assembly procedure by the end of December 2014.
The Committee members had questions about the process of adjusting the regulations envisaged by the set of media bills to the announced amendments to the Labour Law, the part relating to the employment of staff at cultural institutions. The Committee members also asked the Ministry representatives about media funding and potential for digitalisation of domestic films.
The Committee also made the Decision to hold its first public hearing with the topic “Copyright and collective management of copyright and related rights of dramatic, film and television artists and interpreters”. The public hearing is planned to take place on 14 July at the National Assembly.
