Forty-Third Sitting of the Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues

On 29 November, the Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues held its forty-third sitting, chaired by Committee Chairman Meho Omerovic. The sitting was attended by Assistant Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Miro Cavaljuga and Assistant Minister of Health Zorica Pavlovic.


The Committee members considered the Bill amending and modifying the Law on State and Other Holidays in the Republic of Serbia and the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Salaries in Public Agencies and Public Services, in detail.

The MPs had submitted a total of 14 amendments to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on State and Other Holidays in the Republic of Serbia. The Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Committee accepted none of them. In addition, the Committee submitted an amendment of its own to the Bill.

The MPs had submitted three amendments to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Salaries in Public Agencies and Public Services. The Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Committee accepted two of the amendments, and rejected one. Committee Chairman Meho Omerovic was appointed the Committee’s rapporteur to the National Assembly sitting.

The Committee members went on to decide to hold a public hearing on 6 December 2011 on the topic: Drawing a social map for the 200 families whose close relations were kidnapped or missing.
