Forty-Seventh Sitting of the Committee on Science and Technological Development

The Committee considered the Ministry of Education and Science Activity Report for period January-March 2011 – field of science.


The Committee considered the Ministry of Education and Science Activity Report for period January-March 2011 – field of science. The Ministry representatives stressed as most important the fact that in the period between January and March 2011 the financing of science projects was completed on time, researchers from the sphere of technological development were categorized, and significant international cooperation was achieved.

The Committee members pointed out the recognition (nostrification) of basic and advanced studies diplomas in Serbia as an important problem with which the Ministry representatives agreed, concluding that a Committee sitting should be convened to address these issues.

The Committee went on to consider the scientific workers’ initiative to reexamine the decision to eliminate the Ministry of Science and Technological Development. The Ministry representatives confirmed that the Serbian Government’s policy of scientific and technological development will remain unchanged and that the implementation of the adopted Strategy of Scientific and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia for the period from 2010 to 2015 will not be impeded. They also announced the possible meeting between the petitioners and State Secretary at the Ministry of Science and Education Dr Radivoje Mitrovic.

The Committee also considered a possible visit to the Vinca Institute of Nuclear Sciences. Monday, 30 May 2011, 11 a.m. was set as the time of the visit. As part of the visit the Committee members will meet with the representatives of Vinca Institute and Nuclear Facilities of Serbia (NOS) Public Enterprise.
