Forty-Eighth Sitting of the Committee on Defense and Security

At the sitting held on 28 November, the members of the Committee on Defense and Security considered, in detail, the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Emergency Situations and the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Police.


Out of the 28 amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Emergency Situations, the Government and the Committee accepted three.

63 amendments had been submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Police, out of which the Government and the Committee accepted nine. The Committee submitted an amendment of its own to the Bill, adding Article 22a after Article 22.

In the continuation, Committee member MP Meho Omerovic proposed that a public hearing be held at the National Assembly on 23 December to commemorate the anniversary of the adoption of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 – Women, Peace and Security. The Committee members agreed to hold the public sitting and proposed that MP Meho Omerovic take the steps necessary to realise the event.

The sitting was chaired by Dusan Bajatovic, Committee Chairman.
