Foreign Affairs Committee Delegation in Rome Meets with Chairmen of Foreign Affairs Committee and EU Policies Committee

The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee Marina Ragus and the delegation consisting of Foreign Affairs Committee members, Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Italy Jovan Palalic, MP Biljana Pantic Pilja and MP Dobrica Veselinovic, met with the Chairman of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Foreign Affairs Committee Giulio Tremonti and the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies EU Policies Committee Alessandro Giglio Vigna.

The parliamentarians discussed Serbia's European path and the reforms implemented to the country a full member. In addition to further plans in the form of parliamentary cooperation, they also discussed the geopolitical situation and global challenges, as well as ways to overcome difficulties.

Deputy Speaker Ragus stressed that Serbia's strategic commitment is membership in the European Union, thanking her hosts for the support Italy provides country on the path to European integration and their seeing our country as the most important one in the Western Balkans.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Serbia, MP Dimitri Coin, who was the only one from the Italian delegation in the Council of Europe to vote against so-called Kosovo’s bid to join the Council of Europe, for which Deputy Speaker Marina Ragus expressed special gratitude.
