Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Meets with Bulgarian Ambassador to Serbia

Today, Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic received the Bulgarian Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Radko Vlaykov, at the National Assembly House.


Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic welcomed the newly-appointed Ambassador, saying that Serbia holds its friendly and neighbourly relations with Bulgaria in high regard. He stressed that joining the European Union is Serbia’s strategic priority despite all the challenges the EU is facing at the moment.

The Committee Chairman informed the Ambassador that the National Assembly had set up a parliamentary friendship group with Bulgaria, highlighting the importance of promoting regional and bilateral cooperation. He also conveyed the National Assembly’s wish to continue parliamentary cooperation within the Craiova Group and proposed that the next trilateral meeting of the chairs of the foreign affairs committees of Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania be held in Belgrade.

The Bulgarian Ambassador opined that stepping up cooperation and exchange of experiences between Serbian and Bulgarian parliamentarians would prove greatly significant.
