Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Meets with Austrian Ambassador to Serbia
The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic and the Austrian Ambassador to Serbia, H.E. Dr Johannes Eigner, met today at the National Assembly House.
The Committee Chairman said that it would be very important to step up cooperation and exchange of experiences between Serbian and Austrian parliamentarians.
The Austrian Ambassador said that there is room to improve cooperation between the two countries, adding that Austria is ready to continue providing Serbia with support on the path to the EU. He asked about the establishment of a parliamentary friendship group with Austria which, Chairman Obradovic assured him, would be done in October.
The Committee Chairman said that joining the EU is Serbia’s strategic priority, while maintaining good relations with the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China. Austria plays a big role in strengthening Serbian economy, said Obradovic adding that the ties between Serbia and Austria had always been strong.
