First Special Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2016

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic convened the First Special Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2016, for Wednesday, 2 March 2016, starting at 10 am.


The agenda for the sitting bears only one item:

1. Election of and oath taking by a member of the Government.

The proposal to elect Zoran Djordjevic member of the Government i.e. Minister of Defence was elaborated by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.

The sitting was attended by Minister of Finance Dusan Vujovic, Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Snezana Bogosavljevic Boskovic, Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic, Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar, Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovicic, Minister of Culture and the Media Ivan Tasovac and the candidate for Minister of Defence Zoran Djordjevic.

Having completed a debate on the proposed candidate for Government member, the MPs elected, by roll call where 165 MPs voted in favour, Zoran Djordjevic Minister of Defence in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, after which the newly-elected Minister was sworn in by the National Assembly Speaker.

The Chair, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic, concluded the First Special Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2016.
